Richard, a resident at Medilodge of Alpena, enjoys tending to the many beautiful flower gardens that the facility has. When asked about the gardens, he states he once had 80 acres of property where he grew Christmas trees. Richard eventually built his home on this and said that the property was his pride and joy. He also had large gardens which he took care of daily. Richard jokingly said the house was his wife and the property was his responsibility. When he couldn’t take care of his property, he moved into town and resided in our center.
Here Richard can bring back those feelings he had back when he tended to his gardens. Richard spends the majority of his day outside enjoying the sunshine and watering the flowers.
